WHAT IS 0-10 VOLT DIMMING?

The 0-10 volt system utilizes a DC voltage to control the brightness of the light. By sending a voltage of 10, the light will operate at 100% brightness. Similarly, sending a voltage of 5 will result in 50% brightness. This method is simple and elegant once you grasp its underlying concept

Traditional dimmers, which restrict power, are incompatible with high-output LED fixtures and corn light bulbs, preventing them from being dimmed. However, there is a straightforward and sophisticated solution for dimming LED light fixtures like LED High Bay Lights and LED Parking Lot Lights: 0-10 volt dimming. This method offers an excellent solution, and to help you understand it better, we have a comprehensive video that explains the key concepts:

What is the Difference Between 0-10v and 1-10 Volt Driver?

The main difference between a 0-10V driver and a 1-10V driver lies in the voltage range they use for dimming control.

  • 0-10V Driver: A 0-10V driver operates with a dimming range from 0 volts to 10 volts. In this system, 0 volts usually corresponds to the minimum light output (off or near off), while 10 volts represents the maximum light output (100% brightness). The voltage can be adjusted anywhere within this range to achieve the desired level of dimming.
  • 1-10V Driver: On the other hand, a 1-10V driver operates with a dimming range starting from 1 volt instead of 0 volts, extending up to 10 volts. Similar to the 0-10V driver, 10 volts typically represents 100% brightness. However, in a 1-10V system, the minimum dimming level is set at 1 volt instead of completely off (0 volts).
